Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1400 is a versatile and compact Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) designed for a wide range of applications. It features a built-in LCD with backlight, which provides a simple interface for monitoring and manipulating bit/integer values1. The MicroLogix 1400 supports up to 256 discrete I/O and seven 1762 MicroLogix Expansion I/O modules. It also includes two serial ports supporting various protocols like DF1, DH-485, Modbus RTU, DNP3, and ASCII. With 10 KB of user program memory and 10 KB of user data memory, it can handle tasks such as data logging and recipe management. The controller is programmed using RSLogix 500 software and is commonly used in industries like material handling, packaging, and general industrial machinery.

Featuring 32 digital I/O, 6 optional analog I/O, and support for any seven 1762 expansion modules, the MicroLogix 1400 supported more total I/O than any previous model (up to 256 digital I/O points.)

As with the MicroLogix 1000, 1200, and 1100, the MicroLogix 1400’s DC input models supported either sinking or sourcing inputs. And like the MicroLogix 1200, the MicroLogix 1400 also came equipped with removable terminal blocks and wiring labels. If fact, the 1400 uses the same RTB’s as the MicroLogix 1200 40-point models.

High I/O Count

The MicroLogix 1400 supports up to 20 digital inputs and 12 digital outputs, with expandability up to seven 1762 I/O modules, providing up to 256 digital I/O points. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from material handling to general industrial machinery

Built-in LCD Display

The controller features a built-in LCD display with   backlight, which allows users to view controller and I/O status, monitor messages, and manipulate bit/integer values directly on the device. This simplifies troubleshooting and reduces the need for additional equipment.

High-Speed Counters

The MicroLogix 1400 includes up to six embedded 100 kHz high-speed counters, which are ideal for applications requiring precise counting and timing, such as motor control and packaging.

Memory and Data Logging

With 10 KB of user program memory and 10 KB of user data memory, the MicroLogix 1400 provides ample space for programming and data storage. Additionally, it supports up to 128 KB for data logging and 64 KB for recipe storage, making it suitable for applications requiring extensive data logging and recipe management

RSLogix 500 Software (For programming & communication)

The controller is programmed using RSLogix 500 software, which simplifies project development and improves productivity. The software provides a user-friendly interface for programming, testing, and debugging the controller.

  • Press the ECS button to go to the main menu
  • Click the down arrow button to go to advanced settings
  • Use the down arrow button to select the fault code
  • Check the four-digit error code
  • The first two digits of the error code indicate where the error originated
  • Check the PLC instruction to determine the error code
  • By pressing down arrow go to advanced settings and press ok
  • Go down by using down arrow and Select ENT Cfg
  • Go down and select IP address by pressing ok
  • ENET mode should be in static, otherwise set to statice and press ok
  • It will Show IP address
